FAQ's
and How it works...
Because sitting for an original portrait can take hours, the artist,
Jozef, works
from a photograph or photograghs. We then illustrate your commission
using
the photographs as a guide.
How do we get started?
Send us the photograph that you like to have a portrait
of in a jpg or tiff format. We then start sketching. It is more cost
efficient for you to provide us with an existing photograph, however,
we can arrange for one of our professionals to orchestrate a sitting
and take reference photographs if you prefer. There is an additional
cost for this service and the results are classical.
What to expect?
Once we have received your commission we like to speak
with the client to get a brief profile of our subject and your direction.
So please be sure to leave your contact information. It has been our
experience that open and honest discussion at the outset is key to
creating portraits that will satisfy your expectations for many generations
to come. From here we compose a pencil or line sketch for your approval,
this will be sent to you electronically (PDF) so be sure to leave your
e-mail address on the commission form. Upon receipt of your approval
(e-mail) we then proceed with your final work of art.
How long will it take?
Please count on a minimum of two weeks for delivery
of the original for your review and an additional two weeks for duplicates
or framing.
Please note that we require an initial deposit of 50% of the total cost
at the time of order, with the balance payable on delivery. RUSH or DEMAND
orders can be processed with a surcharge pending studio work load.
Any extra charges?
Portraits by jozef/jds will provide all artistic materials
required, however, original photographic costs•, as well as any
travel, shipping, insurance, framing, taxes and so on, will be billed
back to the customer.
